This Design-Build Project required AHLBORG to work very closely with the Narragansett Bay Commission personnel resulting in a four-part construction project to avoid any disruption of the myriad of operations required to administer a sophisticated wastewater treatment operation servicing one-third of the State of Rhode Island.
The scope required AHLBORG to completely renovate the existing 16,000 sf four-story administrative structure located in the Fields Point area of Providence, and add a three-story 20,000 square foot addition to that structure; renovate and double the working space of NBC’s laboratory facility and add a technology advanced “clean room”, and build a new maintenance facility and renovate an operations facility.
Upon completion, the Narragansett Bay Commission was able to consolidate administrative, maintenance, laboratory, pre-treatment, environmental monitoring and data analysis at one centralized location. Previously, NBC staff was divided among four separate locations.
