A Rhode Island Building Award was received for this Project.
After a design-build competition, the Town of West Warwick selected AHLBORG as their Design-Builder for the construction of the new 66,000 s.f. Wakefield Hills Elementary School. The two story school is load bearing block with steel joist and metal decking. It has a media center, gymnasium, cafeteria, a central interior courtyard, and outdoor recreational areas.
Included in the project were minor renovations at two other West Warwick elementary schools. At the Maise E. Quinn School classrooms were converted into a media center and computer room; similar renovations were made at the Horgan Elementary School.
